Roller Blinds...

Well, Mr Fabulous and myself have had several very interesting “discussions” regard décor in the loungeroom/main living area.
He has a large open plan living area,  Kitchen, dining room, lounge room, and a study area off to one side, there are large picture windows…. And hideous mucky  beige non descript utilitarian roller blinds at the windows.    I am sure these were found in some throw out bin at a reject shop….. but apparently his ex paid a considerable amount of money for them, and he spent ages putting them up.    My reply,” well, that’s what she said, did you see the receipt”, and that “I could have them down in no time at all”. I feel that since I am not used to living in a fish bowl, we should choose to go with net curtains and proper fabric curtains that are in a nice material and would be closed to provide a cosy environment, as we cuddle before the wood fire on long cold winter evenings keeping the heat in the room.
It is all very well stating that we live in a no through road, but we do have neighbours and a lot of people seem to walk along this street as there is pedestrian access at the bottom of the street to  another area. I am not used to living in a fish bowl,  where anyone and everyone can look in, and everything is on display to all and sundry.
I have since seen some lovely roller blinds, with a pattern fabric, a scalloped edge, decorative ring, and a valance/frill and side curtains, which I think I could maybe go with at a push  rather than these no frill just bung em up they’ll cover the window variety that has no frills styling, just a plastic piece across the bottom, and does have a  plastic pull chain at the side to open and close them.   (Last time I pulled a chain it was attached to a cistern which is where I would like to see these blinds going… if that were at all possible,  oopps… I digress)

I will leave the brown suede look painted feature wall as it is at the moment, as I can just live with that so long as I get to touch up the architrave, and white section above the picture rail as it does seem to go well with my berber couch, but should I happen to trip in the lounge area with a brush in one hand and a tin of paint in the other I will let you all know.
